My collaboration with MEGA ART GALLERY marks an important milestone in my artistic journey. Presenting my works (Phantom Trees#6, Phantom Trees#5)at the contemporary art fair in Forlì was a meaningful experience, further enriched by the thoughtful feedback from curator Claudio Giulianelli. His words are especially valuable to me, as they reflect exactly what I aim to convey through my photography: depth, emotion, and the living breath of nature. I am pleased to share his review in full.
Oleksandr Shapovalov
The Great Photography
MEGA ART GALLERY is proud to present Ukrainian artist Oleksandr Shapovalov, now residing in Germany, whose artworks captivate both through their striking beauty and the unique technique employed in their creation.
At the Forlì Art Fair, our gallery showcased two of his large-scale photographs depicting landscapes.
The beauty and originality of these works lie in the distinctive technique with which they were created: the artist uses multiple exposures directly during the shooting process. These images are not digitally manipulated in Photoshop; their value lies in the mastery and vision that bring the trees to life, as though their leaves were gently moving.
To a hurried observer, these photographs might be classified as impressionist works. Yet here, ladies and gentlemen, we are in the realm of emotion, vibration, and — why not — even sound, which are hallmarks of this remarkable Ukrainian artist.
