“Between Worlds” is a fine art photography series that immerses the viewer in the depths of a shamanic journey—a sacred space where one can connect directly with the ancient trees and the living spirit of nature. It explores the threshold state between worlds: on one side lies tangible, material reality; on the other, a mystical, dreamlike realm of spirits, memories, and intuition.
Each piece in this series is realized through my own unique shooting technique, where I literally paint with my camera directly in the field. Using complex multiple exposure as the core foundation and combining it with intentional camera movement (ICM), I create every image entirely in-camera without Photoshop. The dissolution of boundaries between the visible and invisible, the shifting of layers, and the merging of dimensions happen at the exact moment of shutter release.
A defining aspect of this process is my distinctive color work during RAW conversion. Rather than artificially altering the scene or adding foreign colors, I simply complete the development of the captured tones, allowing the mystical, otherworldly atmosphere to breathe.
Through these works, the trees act as guides, keepers of secrets, and bridges between dimensions. My images create a meditative space that encourages the viewer to pause, slow down their gaze, and experience the primordial magic of nature while walking the shaman’s path and discovering themselves “Between worlds.”
