Abstract art photograph "Childhood, I'm looking at the sun#3" 80x80 cm with a prevalence of warm orange-red tones on a blue background, featuring prominent dark curved forms and a textured surface.
This series reflects on the memory of childhood perception — a pure and immediate way of seeing the world, when everything feels new, mysterious, and slightly magical. I remember how, as a child, I loved looking at the sun through nearly closed, squinting eyes. In that moment the light both dazzles and warms, transforming the familiar world into a soft shimmer of color and movement.
In the series “Childhood, I’m looking at the sun” I explore a child’s perception of nature, light, and trees through the language of contemporary photography. Trees are not simply part of the landscape; they appear as living presences filled with the quiet mystery and spirit of the forest. They shape the atmosphere of the space and influence the emotional experience of the viewer.
Light plays the central role in these works. Passing through leaves and dissolving in movement, it creates a shifting play of radiance and shadow that recalls early discoveries, innocence, and the sense of wonder found in childhood encounters with nature.
Through this series I seek to evoke a state in which perception is still open and intuitive — before the mind begins to analyze or define what it sees. The images move between reality and memory, between photography and painterly impression.
This series is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with nature, and remember the joy of discovery that belongs to the way we see the world in childhood.
