“Phantom Trees” presents the forest not as a passive landscape, but as a living interlocutor and an ancient keeper of memory. Through this fine art photography series, I dissolve familiar contours to reveal an internal experience instead of a physical object: the subtle flickers of light, the deep whisper of branches, and the thin strata of time. Each photograph becomes a sacred threshold between worlds, inviting the viewer to return to a childlike, shamanic perception of nature—one that is entirely free from labels, categories, and dry explanations.
This project is realized through my own unique in-camera shooting technique, where I literally paint with my camera directly in the woods. By combining fluid movement and complex multilayering through multiple exposure, every image is born completely in-camera without Photoshop. The final step takes place during RAW conversion, where I simply finalize the development of the captured colors and tones, allowing the dreamlike atmosphere to breathe.
These works do far more than depict nature; they are a quiet, powerful call for attention, empathy, and care. In “Phantom Trees,” trees are treated as equal partners, and the series implicitly insists on forest conservation and the protection of these living monuments. Through deliberate blur and layered exposures, I aim to transmit a direct, intuitive knowing—an emotional bond that urges us to look deeper, feel closer, and steward the living landscape around us.
